What is Logo Design? Do You Need One for Your Business?
Have you ever wondered what is the difference between logo design and logo?
Logo design is a design of a logo, and logo is actually a mark for designed for people to recognise your business, company or corporation. It is a mark for people to recognise.
Logo is so important in every business or organisation as it let people to recognise, trust and identify your services.
Since a logo is for people to get an instant recognition, a logo should be simple and good legibility.
It's like your face, people recognise you by looking at your face. This metaphor sounds so wrong I know. I can't think of a better one.
The First Logo
The beginning of logo begin with a cipher made of single letter, and later a design or mark made of two or more letters combined. This cipher maybe wrote or carved into letters, names, or initial letters from a surname to use on stationary, a brand, etc

Types of Logo
There are all kinds of shapes, color and sizes of logo, however, logo divided into 4 category. There are letterform, logotype, Iconic/Symbolic, and combination marks(some people might call this emblems, Iconic or abstract).
Letterform
A letterform logo contain one or more letters as a symbol to carry the brand message.

Logotype
A logotype combined well designed text or so called typography that form message about a brand.

Icon/Symbol
Icon/Symbol logo means a simplified images that represent a particular product, company or brand. This symbolic logo design often carry an abstract representation of an organization.

Combination Marks
A combination logo are the combination of logotype and Symbol/Icon that create an brand image to a company or organization.
